Sam’s gut-busting California adventure.

Hey, has anybody noticed our terrific “Hat of the Day” in the right sidebar? I did a Hat of the Day feature a couple of years ago and decided to give it another shot because Rita’s Couture — an actual retail store in south Dallas — just added 32 new hats to their website and I thought my readers might appreciate them as much as I do. Especially the designs that look like bedazzled butt plugs.
Sam is still in horsing around in California and I miss him. Mostly I think it’s annoying that he’s eating so damn well and I’m stuck in Texas with Vienna sausages. For your possible interest here are a few photographic food highlights of Sam’s vacation so far beginning with Norm’s in the San Fernando Valley on Monday with his mom and Aunt Adie, who took the picture. If they look deliriously happy I’m sure it has something to do with strawberry waffles.
Yesterday’s gut-busting adventure included breakfast at Katella Deli with Lloyd and dinner at Poquito Mas with Mike. Apparently there’s no end to the volume of food a person can consume with friends in southern California. I, for one, am mad as hell and I’m not going to take it any more! (Thank you, Howard Beale.)
I woke up at 6:15 this morning with a big blood sugar “low” of 54. I knew something was wrong when I sat bolt upright in bed only three hours after I went to sleep (oy). Incidentally, even though a person can BLACK OUT from a low like that your body never lets you sleep through it, which is pretty damn amazing. So I got up, ate a few Wal-Mart glucose chewies, looked at the Internet for half an hour and went to bed until 10. (Sleeping until 10 is almost as wonderful as that picture of strawberry waffles from Norm’s.)

Thank you for reading this.
