Pete Rose modeling Jockey underwear is 100% “click bait.”

Show of hands. Do any of you know what the term “click bait” means? It’s a headline on the Internet that grabs attention and encourages people to click and read more. And that’s exactly what I’m doing with the stupid title above, because the most-clicked post from the original Howdygram apparently is still this one from January 2013 and I’m trying to find out if I can get history to repeat itself. Every single day at least half a dozen visitors find the Howdygram by Googling “Pete Rose in his underwear.”

So here you go, everybody. It’s Pete Rose in a Jockey underwear ad from the 1970s.
Sam is taking an afternoon nap in North Hollywood, California, as I write this post. He’s really tired, and his long day started at 4:30 a.m. with shuttles and airports and luggage-shlepping and an atrocious pre-flight breakfast sandwich at Whataburger that most likely made him belch across a half a continent. Compounding our aggravation is the recently-discovered fact — about 20 minutes ago, actually — that we’re unable to connect with Face Time (HOLY CRAP!) due to Web.com changing the server settings for our email accounts a couple of days ago [see my earlier post] for no reason whatsoever and now we can’t figure out how to synchronize the iPad that Sam took to California. I’m guessing he might end up at an Apple Store because email settings make my brain explode and I’m home alone here without a mop.

Ready for the next chapter of Sam & Marcy’s Adventures in Inadequate Remodeling? On Thursday I finally received email confirmation from Clayton, leader of the grout people, that Tim, leader of the glass people, will be here FOR SURE on June 24 at 8 a.m. to repair, recaulk and rehang the shower door in our master bathroom. If the gods are with us we’re hoping Tim’s crew can finally stop the leak that’s been plaguing us since Clayton’s invading horde of useless and untrained groutmen destroyed our shower back on March 20. THAT’S THREE MONTHS AGO, PEOPLE. On the off chance that you have nothing else to do for the next half-hour you can click here to read the backstory.

It’s 6 p.m. and I can’t decide what to eat for dinner tonight. My options include assorted leftovers (fish, hot & sour soup and pizza), a wide variety of canned goods (Hormel tamales, Costco chicken, Vienna sausages and tuna), three kinds of Mezzetta giardiniera, low-carb pumpernickel, a jar of Wal-Mart’s knockoff Cheez Whiz, Oscar Mayer pickle & pimiento loaf and frozen hamburgers. I’ll be taking email suggestions from the general public for the next 30 minutes so please hop to it. Thank you for your support.
