Hostess SnoBalls are an amazingly fluffy confection.

We had some excitement around here this morning! After Sam noticed that a lot of our neighbors were having extensive roof work done due to recent hail damage, he invited one of the contractors to come over and inspect Howdygram headquarters.

To make a long story short, apparently we have hail damage, too (who knew?), from one or all of the three hailstorms in 2019, including: 1) missing and damaged shingles; 2) fucked-up flashing around the chimney; 3) bent and broken 90% sunscreens on several windows; 4) cracked and dented cedar planks on our lovely arbor and backyard fence … and probably one or two more projects I’ve forgotten to list. We’re officially in line now to have all this work done at no cost to us whatsoever (not even a deductible). Next step is for the contractor to meet with our homeowner’s insurance adjuster so we can get the party started.

In the meantime I just decided to celebrate by adding two packages of Hostess SnoBalls to the Wal-Mart grocery order that Sam will pick up tomorrow morning after my hospice team is finished here.

I’ve made a few minor design “tweaks” tonight, because the Howdygram isn’t really any fun if it looks exactly the same day after day after day. Therefore, I’m changing to A BRAND NEW FONT for subheads ... “Amsi Pro Narrow Bold” instead of “Modernica Black.” And I’ve also MODIFIED THE CAPTION COLOR to #707ca0, the same color I use for the text in my Howdygram posts. Are you excited yet?!

Hey, look! More free fonts! Here’s a pleasant and inspiring mix of display fonts for your possible interest … a layering script (“Chameleon”), a jumbo slab serif (“Gigantic”) and a long list of hand-lettered fonts. My favorites here are “Candy Night” and “Georgea.” Download links will appear after the graphic in case you want any or all of these for your own collection.

It’s a few minutes past 3 a.m. and there’s a thunderstorm rolling through here right now. Actually, we have a severe thunderstorm watch until 6 a.m., which will probably be renewed throughout the day because we’re expecting wild weather almost nonstop through Thursday morning. Here’s our forecast for the next several hours. It’s practically monotonous, isn’t it?
I’ve got my hospice medical team coming over this morning at 10:30 for my weekly checkup, a catheter change and a bathing and hygiene session. For the time being, though, I need to get some sleep so I won’t feel crappy and miserable while they’re here.

I promise not to tell anybody if you’ve forgotten to remember the Alamo lately. Thank you for reading this.
