Heartfelt thanks to the lying sacks of poo at Weather.com.

Hi. It’s 11:30 Monday night and Sam is already in bed due to starting tomorrow he’ll be working FIRST SHIFT for the first time in 25 years. My schedule will be completely screwed but I’ll do my damndest to sleep when Sam sleeps and be awake when he leaves in the morning. Cross your fingers, though. It may take a while to ease into this shit. Meanwhile ... we’ve got SCARY SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS rolling through here right now with winds in excess of 60 m.p.h. and heavy rain pounding against the windows ... even though NOTHING WHATSOEVER was in the forecast! Our heartfelt thanks to the lying sacks of poo at Weather.com.

You betcha ... I’ve got MORE FREE FONTS for y’all! This is an amazing bunch, people, because most of them include all kinds of fancy swash things and alternate letters with curlicues, such as “Yulinda” and “Ambarella,” pictured below, and others come with multiple styles. I’ll include download links after the graphic so you can add them to your collection or give a few as thoughtful hostess gifts. Who wouldn’t love a couple of free fonts tied to a box of chocolates?

The Howdygram is sad to announce the death of Noel Neill, 95, the teeny film and TV actress who played Lois Lane in 1940s “Superman” movie serials and on television in the 1950s. She died on Sunday at her home in Tucson.
Neill was 28 years old and already a veteran of more than 40 films when she was first cast as Lois in the 15-episode movie serial Superman in 1948. She played the eager young reporter for The Daily Planet who dislikes her mild-mannered colleague Clark Kent but always suspects he’s actually Superman, that dashing defender of truth, justice and the American way.

Neill reprised her role when “The Adventures of Superman” was created for TV in 1952 and remained with the series until it went off the air in 1958. There were plans to bring the show back, but everything came to a halt in 1959 when George Reeves — the actor who played Superman on TV — learned he was NOT faster than a speeding bullet and committed suicide. Oy.

Noel Neill was a popular TV heroine. As Lois Lane she always showed up at the office in proper suits, little hats and pearls, despite the fact that she’d probably end the day tied to railroad tracks, trapped in a cave or locked in a burning building. Thank God for Superman, right? I loved this TV show and had a big crush on George Reeves. (Also Mighty Mouse.)

Right-wing asshole and disgraced former soldier Allen West is pushing another conspiracy theory ... this time he says Americans no longer know what happened on the Fourth of July because we don’t wish each other a “Happy Independence Day.”

West is our latest Putz of the Week.
In his blog West urges Americans to read the Declaration of Independence but twists its meaning to attack President Obama by comparing him to King George III and claiming that liberals are trying to subvert the holiday. For instance:

This is why today, I implore y’all to take the time to carefully read the entire Declaration of Independence and notice the parallels to the grievances then to today, such as, “He has erected a Multitude of new Offices, and sent hither Swarms of Officers to harass our people, and eat out their Substance” ... think IRS and other regulatory agencies.

Or how about this one, “He has combined with others to subject us to a Jurisdiction foreign to our Constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended legislation” ... sound familiar? Consider Obama’s rule by edict and executive order antithetical to our Constitution.

And, “For imposing taxes on us without our Consent” ... need I remind you there are 20 new taxes in Obamacare.

What a crock of shit.

First of all, President Obama was elected to his position by the American people ... TWICE. He is not a king, and when his second term in office finishes in January he’ll leave office. Kings never leave.

Second, President Obama is NOT the only commander-in-chief to issue executive orders. Every single president except for one has issued executive orders, including George Washington. President Obama has issued 235, but Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush issued over 600 combined. And if we look at the number of executive orders issued per year, we find that President Obama’s average is the lowest in modern history. Using West’s logic, the only president who wasn’t a tyrant was William Henry Harrison, who died one month after his inauguration.

And third, West also claims that the American people were taxed without their consent because of Obamacare. This is another crock of shit. The House of Representatives voted in 2009 to pass Obamacare, and all the taxes it contains, and the Senate voted to pass it by a vote of 60-39. West is probably whining because our system of checks and balances between the three branches of government, also established by the Constitution, has prevented Republicans from repealing the Affordable Care Act.

It’s 1:35 a.m. and these thunderstorms are getting worse as I sit here. All the lights in the house are flickering and we’ve already lost power TWICE. I guess it’s time to shut down the Howdygram and shlep myself to the chaise lounge to get some sleep. Check out the following weather map. The little white star denotes Howdygram headquarters. If you can zoom in, I’m the happy senior citizen holding a flashlight and waving her cane.
Thank you for reading this!
