I’ve been feeling seriously not so good for the last few days; crappy, clammy, achy and belchy.

Please accept my apology and plea for patience and understanding. I’ve been feeling seriously not so good for the last few days — crappy, clammy, achy and belchy — and absolutely NOT creative, witty or inspired enough to write a Howdygram post. Until NOW, of course. All of a sudden I feel like spilling the beans all over my keyboard. Thank you for putting up with me.

The big news this morning from Lone Star State? THERE’S A HUGE STORMPOCALYPSE HOO-HAH ON THE WAY FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO! According to the National Weather Service, Tropical Storm Bill — I know, I know; what a stupid name — is slamming into southern Texas as I write this post, heading due north into Corpus Christie, Austin, Waco and Dallas packed with huge bands of very heavy rain. The first round of severe weathery crap will roll in around 2 p.m. and continue nonstop until midday Friday. That’s a lot of goddamn rain, people. Howdygram headquarters (circled in white, below) is expecting about eight inches. Oy, right?

My girlfriend Sandi sent me the following picture last night. It was taken in 1966, the summer before we started our sophomore year in high school. We were both 15 years old, posing in Sandi’s back yard in Skokie. I’ll bet we were going to the beach.

I think I might go back to bed for a while. My work here is done.
