Eventually I calmed down long enough for a wonderful bath (thank you, Sam), a couple of good movies and a bag of sugar-free gummi bears. We saw Dodge City (1939) starring Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland, and Beg, Borrow or Steal (1937) starring Florence Rice, John Beal and Frank Morgan.
Another issue we’re monitoring is my APPETITE. Following my most recent “decline” (with all the churning stomach acid and vomiting; see post) I honestly never thought I’d eat again … but of course, I was wrong. I started eating again right away. Unfortunately, my TASTE BUDS took another direct hit! Food doesn’t taste the same any more and some old favorites actually taste horrible now. However I’m pleased to report that I still love China City’s Hot and Sour Soup, and their Steamed Meat Dumplings are awfully damn good, too … even when I drown them in hot chili paste! Sam brings home both for me at least once a week.

It’s 6:45 p.m., and it just occurred to me that I haven’t eaten anything today. Nothing whatsoever! I think I’ll take a peek at my current “food inventory” — a running list of everything in the fridge, freezer and pantry — so I’ll know what to request. Right now it’s a three-way tie between Hormel Tamales (in a can), Yakisoba Beef Teriyaki Noodles and a Banquet Chicken Pot Pie. I think the tamales are winning,
