Ever heard of Bengay? This shit really works!

It’s ME again … your favorite useless bedridden blogger from Texas! I fell asleep this morning before sunrise, just in time for Sam to get home from Wal-Mart, where he bought me a miracle product from the pharmacy, pictured below for your possible interest. For the last couple of days the joint pain in my knees had been positively EXCRUCIATING, even when I was completely motionless in bed. Since I’m already taking the maximum dose of opioids, Sam decided to suggest Bengay cream … an idea from a short list of “last resorts,” and I agreed.

Know what? THIS SHIT REALLY WORKS! About five minutes after Sam massaged Bengay onto my kneecaps, the pain actually subsided and I fell asleep immediately … and for eight hours! Until that point I’d been so miserable I couldn’t even close my eyes. Thank you, Sam. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

If you’re a Howdygram “regular” I’m sure by now you’ve noticed something completely different about our banner, right? Here’s what I did:
  • Reverted back to my favorite Howdygram logo, which happens to coordinate with the logo I’ve used for years at The Howdygram Store on Zazzle.com.
  • Also reverted back to a longer tagline I used in the past.
  • Added a new and improved cowboy cartoon. (I actually have quite a lot of cowboy cartoons to choose from.)
A few more tweaks may be coming soon. Stay tuned for further developments but please feel free to resume your normal daily routine in the meantime.

I’d like to share a tiny collection of free fonts with you, all with one specific feature in common: SHADOWS. “Bankitte,” “Groovy Retro” and “NeoBulletin” are layered fonts with a bold extruded shadow; “Tooney Noodle” is unfilled with a drop shadow. Download links will appear under the font list. Enjoy!

It’s a few minutes after midnight, the wee hours of Monday morning, and Sam and I are watching Panic in the Streets (1950) again, starring Richard Widmark and Paul Douglas … the story of a police captain (Douglas) and a public health service doctor (Widmark) trying to stop a pneumonic plague epidemic in New Orleans. This is one hell of a terrific movie, people, and one you should watch next time it’s on TCM. Sam and I love this movie to pieces and watch it at least once a week (I’m serious). How they comb the city for clues and piece together the answers is really pretty damn incredible. Do yourself a favor and keep an eye out for this one, okay?

Time to move along, because my bedtime sedatives are kicking in and I’d like to get comfortable and nod off for a while. Thank you for reading this!
