Please hold a good thought for Sam. I think he’s getting sick.

Hi-de-ho, everybody. It’s 9:25 p.m. Wednesday night — the shank of evening! — but Sam is already in bed. How come? He doesn’t feel well! He was sniffling and coughing today and said he felt unusually tired, so about half an hour ago he decided to toddle off to bed for some uninterrupted sleep. I’m fine out here in the family room. I’ve got a big glass of pink lemonade and a burst of creative energy to work on the Howdygram. All’s well, but please hold a good thought for Sam. I don’t want my caregiver to get sick!

It’s time once again to discuss my ongoing struggle with food and basic digestion. Today was actually quite pleasant, and I was able to eat all of the following:
  • At 5 a.m., a few minutes before Sam left for his morning walk in the woods, I had a nice can of CAMPBELL’S CREAM OF MUSHROOM SOUP for breakfast. Not much flavor, unfortunately, but it’s not the soup’s fault … it’s me.
  • Around 2 p.m. Sam reheated half a can of HORMEL CORNED BEEF HASH leftover from yesterday. Years ago I used to love this stuff, but I can’t taste it any more. Today it was a little better than yesterday, though.
  • Enjoyed six LAY’S POTATO CHIPS for a late afternoon snack with a small bottle of DIET SUNKIST ORANGE SODA. At this rate it’ll take five months to finish the bag.
  • For dinner at 7:30 p.m. I washed down a fistful of pills with a GLUCERNA MEAL REPLACEMENT SHAKE for elderly diabetics. When Sam wakes up from his nap I’ll ask for a dish of MOTT’S APPLESAUCE to round out my day’s nutrition.

All in all, there were NO DIGESTIVE ISSUES on Wednesday. No churning stomach, no nausea, no difficulty swallowing, no pressure in my chest. I really didn’t eat much, and what I ate didn’t have any flavor, but at least I didn’t wind up whining and moaning all day. Thank God!

More free fonts! Tonight’s collection includes a little of everything, from scripts (“Christmas Present”) to hand-drawn fonts (“Hastoler”) to elegant classics (“Bright Regular”) and quirky display fonts (“Night House”). I’m even sharing a bold, layered script (“Basuki”) that includes hundreds of versatile swashy alternate characters and curly things. Download links will appear below the list.

I had a chance to buy a little “creative inspiration” this morning from Etsy.com … two fabulous collections of seamless background images. The first one is a collection of leather background textures in 100 colors, and the other is a collection of 18 pastel matte paint brushstroke textures. Are these terrific, or what?

Oy, I need food. It’s been quite a while since I’ve eaten anything, so I’m thinking I should watch a movie now and maybe turn the volume up a little to wake Sam, who’s been napping in bed for the last two and half hours. (I know this sounds devious, but he gets scared if I shout his name.)

Thank you for reading this, and please do your best to remember the Alamo for a couple of minutes.
