I’ve had a long, hard day of sleeping, shlepping, pishing and occasional meals.

Good morning, boys and girls … we’ve got another gorgeous spring day underway here in north Texas! Today’s forecast is sunny and 70°, but unfortunately we won’t really warm up (next week it’s supposed to be in the low 80s) until we get rid of Saturday’s thunderstorms. In the meantime I’ll just stare out the windows in the family room. It’s a limited view … but I love it. (We have a terrific patio.)

I was hoping to write a juicy little paragraph or two about Donald Trump … but I find that I’ve got a great deal more to say than that, so pour yourself a tall lemonade — with ice and a bendy straw — and hang on for the ride, okay?

Donald Trump: The Manhattan Orangutan that poisoned America.

Today I’ll be discussing Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation … and the fact that, last spring, he added a prosecutor named Adam Jed to his team who specializes in asset forfeiture. Ten months later we’re now entering the asset forfeiture stage of the Trump-Russia scandal ... and it’s pretty bad news for everyone involved, especially crime boss Donald Trump.

Court filings released yesterday signal that Adam Jed has just stepped forward for the prosecution in the case against Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman Paul Manafort. This means that, in addition to an array of felony charges and potential 300-year prison sentence that Manafort is already facing, he’s about to start losing his properties if the court agrees with Mueller. (Keep in mind that the court almost always agrees with Mueller. He’s the prosecutor who finally sent mob boss John Gotti to prison!)

Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller (left) and former Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort.

The charges against Manafort, which range from money laundering to conspiracy against the United States, are in line with the charges that Donald Trump can expect to face as well. There’s little existing precedent as to how far Mueller can proceed with his prosecution of Trump while he’s still in office, so in that sense the Manafort case is something of a test-run for the tactics Mueller and his team might use to try to get around the legal limitations for pursuing Donald Trump.

In other words, Robert Mueller is now sending in an asset forfeiture specialist to begin seizing Paul Manafort’s bank accounts, homes, cars and condos even before the trial gets underway. It’s time for Donald Trump to worry that his assets and properties — including Trump Tower! — could be seized, too. Frankly, I CAN’T WAIT. I love picturing Donald and Melania trying to move their gold-plated thrones into a two-bedroom apartment in Queens.

It’s 9:45 Thursday night, Sam’s conked out next to me on the sofa, and I’m watching (don’t laugh) A Hard Day’s Night (1964) starring the Beatles.

The Beatles in 1964’s “A Hard Day’s Night”  starring Ringo, George, John and Paul.

I decided to record A Hard Day’s Night because one month from now my BFF Sandi will be here on a two-day visit from Chicago …and the first time we saw this movie we were a pair of screaming 12-year-old Beatles fans in seventh grade at Old Orchard Junior High. I figured I’d store A Hard Day’s Night on our DVR and surprise Sandi when she’s here. (Too bad I’m blabbing about this in the Howdygram, however!)

Time for bed, people. It’s almost 11 p.m. and I’ve had a long, hard day of sleeping, shlepping, pishing and occasional meals. Thank you for reading this!
