Please don’t get scared.

It’s 9:30 Wednesday morning, and I’m waiting for my hospice C.N.A. to show up. It’s bath day again. Woo-hoo!

I just treated myself to a fun order from SoupsOnline.com, one of my all-time favorite foodie websites. They sell every imaginable variety of soup … canned soups, soup mixes, soup “starters,” bouillon, soup bases, you name it. Today I ordered one package of Bear Creek Split Pea Soup (it makes half a gallon!) and two packages of Sunbird Hot & Sour Soup, both of which gladly posed for the photo below.

Just about everything on SoupsOnline.com was on sale today, and flat-rate shipping is only $5.99. I love saving money almost as much as I love soup. Pass the crackers!

Here are more excellent free fonts! There are seven display fonts, two which are layered, and we’ve also got a couple of fine scripts as well … “Krakatoa” and “Quirky.” Download links appear after the graphic in case you want to collect a few of these for yourself.

I have an announcement to make, ladies and gentlemen. It seems that I’ve had another “crisis” [see original post]. I was unconscious again for four days with round-the-clock crisis nurses from the hospice feeding me liquid pain medications and antibiotics through an eyedropper. Sam found me unconscious last Wednesday (September 4); I woke up yesterday.

I have a rampant infection in my body. In addition to an incurable UTI, I’ve got cellulitis in my right leg and right hip, and it’s spreading. It’s painful, bright red and warm to the touch, and my body temperature spikes from very low (95°) to very high (102°). When it’s high I lose consciousness.

So here’s my big decision. I told Sam the next time he finds me unconscious — and he will — I don’t want him calling the hospice for a crisis team with round-the-clock medical care. I want him to let me pass away in my sleep. We’ve discussed this at length, and he’s fine with it.

The last several years have been an unbelievable struggle for me. Deteriorating health, horrible pain, searing burning urinary tract spams and finally losing the ability to walk and stand. I’m ready to go. I’ve written a short final Howdygram post that Sam will publish when it’s over.

In the meantime, I’ll continue posting from time to time, sharing free fonts whenever I have them, and trying to squeeze as much humor as possible from life. I love you all.
