Shalom y’all, and HAVE A SWELL AND MERRY CINCO DE MAYO from your friends at Howdygram headquarters. The following celebration graphic says it all!
Later today Sam and I will commemorate our beloved annual mayonnaise festival with homemade BLTs ... except ours are probably different than yours after we discovered Yoders canned bacon a couple of years ago. Yoders bacon is fully cooked and you get about 50 strips in every can, packed on greasy sheets of wax paper. You just pull off a bunch of strips, nuke them on a paper towel for about 15 seconds, and — whammo! — HOT PERFECT BACON! Our BLTs also include normal white toast, a head of butter lettuce, juicy tomatoes and (of course) Hellmann’s mayonnaise. Wal-Mart’s Great Value store brand mayonnaise is a surprising second-best.
I’ve got a nice little crowd of FREE FONTS for you this morning, featuring a couple of pleasant scripts — “Flacacher” and “Vincentia” — and several hand-lettered all-uppercase display fonts that’ll be fantastic for my greeting card designs. I think my favorite today is “Fried Chicken,” because it reminds me of the hand-painted ads you used to see on grocery store windows back in the 1950s and ’60s. (Also because it makes me hungry.) Download links will appear below the graphic in case you want any of these for your personal collection. You can thank me later.
I snagged another bunch of free graphics today from Design Cuts ... they’re all semi-boring sunburst things, pictured below in case you give a crap. I’ll be glad to share them with you if you’re interested. Just send me an email, okay?
And now it’s time for a nap and a movie (not necessarily in that order). Thank you for stopping by today and thank you for reading this. Also thank you for remembering the Alamo.
