Sam has jury duty today in downtown Dallas, right in the middle of a dense fog advisory.

Hi-de-ho, people, and welcome to the Howdygram! It’s almost 3 a.m. and I’ve been writing email for the last couple of hours. I still have one more to go (to Sam’s sister) but I’ll have to save that for later today. I know she’ll understand.

I can’t wait to show you the amazing FREE FONTS I’ve got for you today! They are: 1) “Nomah” and “Cama” scripts with lots of swashy things and curlicue endings for letters; 2) “Adinah,” with 14 separate fonts in a variety of styles, including grunge, rough, shaded, inlines and overlays; 3) “Fira Sans” in standard, compressed and condensed widths with 16 weights and italics for each; and 4) “Tactic Sans” in standard, extended and extra extended widths with seven weights and italics for each. In case you’re curious, MyFonts.com sells “Adinah” for $120 and “Tactic Sans” sells for $349 ... but they’re both available right here for Howdygram readers, absolutely free! You’ll find download links after the graphic.

Monday was giveaway day at CreativeMarket.com, and those of us who subscribe to their weekly newsletter were lucky enough to snag all of the following goodies. These included hand-drawn wreaths in vector (Adobe Illustrator) format, a bunch of adorable hand-painted watercolor Christmas icons and two sets of pretty good background patterns. (I especially like the seamless florals.) In addition I also grabbed a collection of 16 high-resolution photos of Christmas wreaths on interesting backgrounds that might wind up as an unusual line of holiday cards next year for The Howdygram Store.

Sam has jury duty today and he has to be downtown at the Dallas County courthouse by 8 a.m. This might turn out to be quite a challenge, however ... there’s a DENSE FOG ADVISORY in effect until 10 a.m. with visibility in most parts of the Dallas area less than 300 feet! And whether or not Sam will have an opportunity to serve on a jury still remains to be seen. He’s been summoned at least five times since we moved to Texas in 2007 ... but nobody ever picks him! (Maybe because he walks in swinging a noose.) Stay tuned for additional information, okay?

It’s after 4 a.m. now and time for yours truly to shoot insulin and get some sleep. Thank you for dropping in and don’t forget to remember the Alamo, okay?
