It’s Easter Sunday, 2:45 a.m., Sam is asleep and I’m enjoying Hormel Compleats meatloaf and mashed potatoes with tasty brown gravy because my stomach was really empty and Hormel’s little airplane-sized meals are just enough to fill me up in the middle of the night. Personally, I think this is the best variety Hormel makes ... not counting their chili with beans.
Incidentally, I’d like to shout-out a big fat THANK YOU and I LOVE YOU to my BFF Sandi, her two beautiful daughters, their significant others and a pair of Bobs for including Sam and me in their seder celebration last night via FaceTime! It was a beautiful affair at Danielle and Brandon’s new house in north suburban Chicago, but I’m unable to comment on the food because nobody’s figured out yet how to shovel matzo ball soup into an iPhone. (Maybe next year.)
Here we have an interesting but teeny little bunch of FREE FONTS for you. I decided to install them on my iMac because they’re all unusual and not at all like any of the other 4,267 fonts I already have. Seriously. My favorite is “Mocca.” FYI, two separate font bundles are represented here. The first one includes “Cabana Kingpin,” “Punchbowl” and one additional font. The second bundle includes “Mocca” and several other fancy-ass fonts that I didn’t have any use for. Please feel free to check them all out for yourself, however. Download links will appear after the graphic.
Some adorable clip art, pre-made logos and a lot of background patterns for Adobe Illustrator were included with the first font bundle mentioned in the previous section. A few samples appear below for your possible interest.
I thought I should take a moment right now to recommend some great TV. For instance ... another awe-inspiring season of “DEADLIEST CATCH” is kicking up again on Discovery every Tuesday night. This series is one of the best reasons to own a high-definition TV because the photography is breathtaking. Also it’s an excellent opportunity to find out what’s new with your favorite dysfunctional crab boat captains. (These guys are INSANE.) And “VEEP” is back on Sunday nights on HBO starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The new season starts tonight, so grab your remote and program your DVR.
And last but not least, you also might be interested in an HBO mini-series called “THE WIZARD OF LIES” that premiers on May 20 starring Robert DeNiro and Michelle Pfeiffer as Bernie and Ruth Madoff. I, for one, can’t wait to relive this embarrassing shit all over again. Bernie Madoff was a nice little Jewish man — the chairman of NASDAQ! — who bankrupted his friends, his relatives, prominent Jewish charities and thousands of investors. In 2009 Madoff was sentenced to 150 years in prison and $170 billion restitution. What an evil jerk. I hope his teeth fall out the day before Thanksgiving!
Now it’s time for Chinese food and a movie! I just ordered some goodies from King China in Garland ... Hot & Sour Soup, Szechwan Shrimp with String Beans (extra spicy) and Vegetable Egg Foo Yung. I’m so excited my head might explode.
Thank you for reading this!
