I forgot to use an important graphic in yesterday’s Howdygram post so I thought I’d take care of that omission right now.
This, of course, is the amazing iMac desktop computer, and on Tuesday afternoon Sam and I ordered new ones — his and hers! — to replace the creaking antiques we’re using now. I’m so excited I think my brain might explode.
Except there’s one thing that scares the living shit out of me.
As soon as my new iMac is hooked up I’ll be subscribing to Adobe’s fancy-ass Creative Cloud, which features upgraded versions of all the high-end software I’m using now ... inDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. To tell you the truth, I haven’t seen an upgrade to any of these programs for half a decade or more because I have an old Mac that can’t run anything faster than Creative Suite 5.5, and version 5.5 became obsolete in 2012. Seven years ago! So there will be a ginormous learning curve, and I’ll probably be crabby and weird and upset every time I try to tackle a routine task that’s completely different and terrifying.
I’m your typical old fart. I’m afraid of EVERYTHING. Thank you.
Here we have another small gathering of FREE FONTS for your possible interest. My favorites today are “Lemonilia” and “Juliane” ... with a shout-out to “Venetian” and “Aliens and Cows.” You’ll find download links below the graphic, as usual.
Right now I’m enjoying a favorite lunch ... pickle & pimiento loaf on rye and a can of diet root beer. Hoo-boy, it just doesn’t get much better than THIS! In case you’re wondering, Sam made the sandwich for me this morning before work and left it in the teeny fridge here in the study. This is the best teeny fridge on earth. (And the best husband, too.)
Thank you for reading this.
