Somewhere in Mesquite tonight there’s a needy family enjoying our old Sony TV.

I guess you’ve probably noticed my chic new blog logo, right? I’ve actually been dicking around with the Howdygram’s various artistic elements for more than two weeks until finally settling on the overall “look” you’re enjoying right now. I’m finally happy, people. Yee-haw!

Today was BIG FAT DELIVERY DAY around here. We were expecting our media console and matching coffee table from Ashley Furniture (see below) between 11 and 3 and our gigantic new 60-inch Samsung TV from Costco between 12 and 4. The shopping gods were smiling on us, though, because everything showed up before 11:30 this morning in perfect condition and exactly as promised. Better yet, Sam paid the Ashley Furniture dudes a few bucks to drag our old Sony rear-projection TV out to the curb for scavengers. It’s as big as a Chevy Suburban and so obsolete even the Salvation Army doesn’t want it — trust me, I called — so it’s sitting at the base of our driveway with the remote taped on top. I’ll bet it’s gone within two hours.
I NAILED IT, GUYS. Somewhere in Mesquite tonight there’s a needy family enjoying our old Sony TV. It disappeared from the foot of our driveway by mid-afternoon.

In case you’re wondering, we’ve got home theater installation scheduled for tomorrow — yes, on Sunday! — with the Dish Network. For $99 they’re sending two installer dudes to hook up our jumbo new Samsung TV and assorted components (DVD player, DVR, sound bar, and so on), teach us how to use everything and organize all the cords and cables. (If we wanted wall-mount TV installation it would cost $100 more.) I’ll get a text message in the morning from Dish with a time window for installation.

Believe it or not, I love all four of today’s FREE FONTS but especially “Alphabet Pony” because the swashy things are so damn adorable. And I’d also like to give an honorable mention to “Lunar Cone” for four interesting styles that you can layer on top of each other. Download links will appear after the graphic, okay? Uncork a bottle of Mogen David, invite a few friends and have a shabbos font party!

And that’s all for tonight, folks. I’ve got a bunch of emails to answer and an empty seven-day pill organizer to load up for the week ahead. I LOVE MY DRUGS!

Thank you most sincerely for reading this.
